How We Test & Review AI Tools
At Seeking Technicals, every piece of content follows the same core rule: we don’t publish an opinion we haven’t earned by using the product ourselves.
Here’s exactly how that works.
1. How We Choose What to Review
We prioritize tools based on:
- Reader demand (what people are actively searching for and comparing)
- Genuine relevance to writers, developers, marketers, and creators
- Meaningful differentiation — we don’t review clones with no real distinction
We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, and no advertiser has editorial control over our conclusions.
2. Our Testing Process
For every tool or comparison article, we:
- Create a real account on the tool (free and/or paid tier, depending on what’s being reviewed)
- Run identical test tasks across tools being compared — for example, the same writing prompt, the same coding problem, or the same research question — so comparisons are apples-to-apples
- Evaluate on consistent criteria, including:
- Output quality and accuracy
- Speed and reliability
- Ease of use / learning curve
- Pricing vs. value
- Customer support (where relevant)
- Document our findings with real screenshots or examples wherever possible
- Re-test periodically — AI tools change fast, and we revisit key articles to keep them accurate
3. Ratings
Where we assign scores or rankings, they’re based on the criteria above, weighted by relevance to the specific use case (e.g., speed matters more for a coding assistant than for a long-form writing tool). We explain our reasoning in the article itself rather than just handing down a number.
4. Updates & Corrections
AI products change constantly — new model versions, pricing changes, feature removals. When we’re notified of a change, or catch one ourselves, we update the relevant article and note the update date. If we get something wrong, we correct it and are transparent about the change.
5. Affiliate Relationships
Some articles contain affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up through them, at no extra cost to you. This never influences our conclusions — see our full Affiliate Disclosure for details.
6. Questions or Concerns
If you believe an article is inaccurate or outdated, please contact us — we take corrections seriously and will look into it.
